I Sopha Edwards of the aforesaid county and state being of sound mind but 
considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare 
this my last will and testament 
Item 1st- My executor hereinafter named shall give my body a decent burial 
suitable to the wishes of my friends and relatives and pay all funeral 
expenses together with all my just debts out of the first moneys which may 
come unto his hands belonging to my estate
Item 2nd- I give and devise to my granddaughter Salley Edward one half of 
all my lands which I now live on adjoining the land of Charley Creech, 
D H Creech and others containing about forty acres more or less to have and 
hold in fee simple
Item 3- I give and devise to my son Josiah Edward heirs (except Sally Edward) 
the balance of all my lands to have and to hold in fee simple
Item 4- My will and desire is that all my personal property including my 
clothes shall be sold and the debts owing to me collected and if there should 
be any surplus over and above the payment of debts & expenses that such 
surplus shall be paid over to my granddaughter Sally Edward 
Item 5- I hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend D T Creech my lawful 
executor to all intent and purposes to execute this my last will and testament 
according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part and clause 
thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and 
testaments by me hereto made
In witness whereof I the said Sopha Edward do hereunto set my hand and seal 
this 24th day of July 1897
