Johnston County, NC - Will & Estate Records File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Carol Norville Berning Malichia Hinton Will Johnston County, NC March 20, 1807 Transcribed by Carol Norville Berning berningc@worldnet.att.net In the name of God Amen I Malichia Hinton of Johnston county being of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God, do therefore this twentieth day of March one thousand eight-hundred and seven make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say: Item: I give and bequeath unto my son George Hinton three negro slaves named Dick, Stephen, Young Rachel with all his household furniture and stock of all sorts to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Pharaby Wimberly two negro slaves named Jude and old Rachel and their increase and mare and saddle and bridle with all her stock of all sort and household goods to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Jacob Hinton two negro slaves named Sam and Citt. Item: I leave in my will for George Hinton to give Jacob Hinton one hundred and fifty dollars to him and his heirs forever also to Jacob Hinton one feather bed one horse saddle and bridle with all his stock of all sorts to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Vinson two negro slaves named Hanner and Grace and their increase one feather bed stead and furniture one mare bridle and saddle her household furniture and stocks of all kind to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Bryan four negro slaves named Rose, Beck, Davy and Jim and their increase one feather bed and bedstead and furniture one walnut chest one saddle and three cows and calves to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Hardy the land and plantation whereon I now live with three negro slaves named Toby, Moll, Patt and their increase one horse, bridle and saddle one feather bed and furniture and household furniture and stock of all sorts to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Malicha Hinton Jr. a certain tract or parcel of land lying on the east side of the sound (________) beginning at the mouth of said sound pond branch from thence up the meanders of the said branch to the head from thence to a line of marked trees to the second back line from thence (________) said line to the old east path from thence by a line of marked trees nearly north to the back line all and singular on the east of said branch thereof with three negro slaves named Peter, Patience and Penny and their increase one feather bed and bedstead and furniture one new painted chest with his stock of all sorts to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my son William Hinton the remainder of my land and plantation whereon I now live three negro slaves named Mead, Lettice and Dave and their increase with one feather bed, bedstead and furniture and one new fainted chest with stocks of all sort to him and his heirs forever. I also give to my two daughters Elizabeth Vinson and Sarah Bryaan one negro girl Looce and her increase to be equally divided between them to them and their heirs forever after my decease. I also give unto my son Jacob Hinton one horse called Mouseto him and his heirs and assigns forever after my death, also old Sam, Harry and Pomp after my decease to be equally divided between Hardy Hinton, Malichia Hinton, and William Hinton to them and their heirs forever also the remainder of my household furniture to be equally divided between my eight children, five sons and three daughters all my plantation working tools and crop to be equally divided between my eight children also after my decease I give the blacksmith tools to my son Malichia Hinton Jr. to him and his heirs forever. I do hereby constitute and appoint William Hinton, Hardy Hinton, Malichia Hinton executors to this my last will and testament in witness hereof I the said Malichia Hinton hath hereunto set my hand and seal and declare in presence Of interlined before assigned G.
