Will of Jasper Jernigan (abstracted)
17 Apr 1787
Prob. Aug. Ct. 1787

Exec to pay all debts

Son Martin-whole of my estate, real & personal. If he dies before coming of age 
and has no heirs, nor make a will, the estate is to be divided as follows:
 
Sister in law Sarah Yates, dtr of Daniel Yates of Onslow County- Negro Pegg and 
her increase

Niece Zelpha Jernigan- negroes China & Tiner and their increase

Nephew Henry Stevens- Remaining part of estate both real & personal after the 
death of his mother, who I desire not to be molested from my estate

Perishable goods to be sold by the Exec not by the Sheriff. Money from sale to 
be used to school my son, in the settlement, or where ever my Exec think it 
necessary to send him in this state. Land is to be rented, Negroes to be hired 
out, and money applied to the raising of my son Martin

Exec: father in law Daniel Yates, Henry Stevens, Jesse Tiner
Wit: Charles Stevens, Abraham Gemelion, Jos Sandifur
