I John Oliver of Johnston County and State of North Carolina being sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God. Therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form: Imprimis: I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Thomas Oliver two hundred acres of land lying on Delany’s branches the West side of Mocoson swamp and all my books. ITEM: I give to my beloved son Stephen Oliver one hundred acres of land the East side Mocoson swamp joining my son John Oliver’s land also one young horse, bridle and saddle. ITEM: I give unto my son Henry Oliver two hundred acres of land lying on the Rooty branch and West branch the North side Mososon Swamp also one sow and pigs. ITEM: I give unto my beloved son Mitchell Oliver the house and plantation I leve after his mother’s deceased also one shot gun. ITEM: I give unto my beloved son John Oliver one sow and pigs and one Ewand Lamb. ITEM: I give unto my beloved daughter Elizabeth one feather bed and furniture, one cox and calf, one sow and pigs. ITEM: I give unto my beloved daughter Eleoner Oliver one cow and calf one Ewand lamb. ITEM: I lend unto Sarah my beloved wife all and every part and percel of my estate not already above mentioned after the payment of my just debts all to her own use during her widowhood and then to be equally divided amongst the above named children. I also constitute and appoint my wife Sarah and son Thomas Oliver executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow all and every other former testaments Wills and Legacies and executions by me bequeath ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year above written.
