Know all men by them presents that I Simon Pearce of the county and state aforesaid do in the name of God, Amen, make this my last Will and Testament. I give and bequeath to my wife Polley Pearce twenty one head of two year old hogs and fifty barrels of corn. I also give to my wife Polley Pearce five cows and their five calfs. I also give my wife half of all my fodder and all the shucks for the for the support of her cattle, also I give to my wife one mare and her colt, I also give my said wife one set of blacksmith’s tools and all the implements and utensils in the shop, also I give my wife five hundred weight of cotton likewise I give to my wife Polley three choice sows and pigs and eight year old shoats, also I give to my wife one cart, I also give to my beloved wife four fetherbeds and furniture, also I give to my wife all the household and kitchen furniture, also I give my wife all the plows and gears all the grub hoes and weeding hoes, also four guns which are her to give to my four boys each of them one, also I give to my beloved wife, Polley Pearce one Negro woman named Venus, likewise one Negro girl named Jude trusting that she will not forget the dearchildren which I have had by her and in all cases as a mother I pray that she remember my children to God and to my dear wife I do commit all the above, may the above, may the blessing of God attend them, also it is my wish for my wife to take as take as much of the cleared land as will be sufficient for her for which I give to her and use the same or she thinks proper and the rest of the cleared land I desire to have rented to the highest bider and the profits of the same to be set aside for for the payment of my debts for an equal distribution amongst each of my children, also I wish my executor to hire to the highest bider one Negro woman named Seal and one Negro boy named Nelson each of them for one year only and the money for the hire of them set aside for the payments of my just debts and after the said Negroes time is up to be returned to my wife for her to dispose of them to the benefit of my children as she may think proper, I also desire for my executrix to sell to the highest bider all the residue of my personal estate on a credit of six month and this money to be set aside for the payment of my just debts. I also do set aside two certain tracts of land on the South side of little river to the river to the use of my children at the discretion of their mother, my wife, the said land is known by the name as follows one hundred acres which I purchased of Ambrose R of Ambrose Rains then? Philip Raiford, the other tract contains 34 acres which I did buy of John Evans and his wife adjoin the lands of Cogdel Mascy and Sam Game, also a Game, also at the death of my father I have one Negro man now in his possession named Ben, the said Negro I wish to be taken unto the possession of my administratr administratrix to be disposed of at the discretion of my wife to the benefit of my lawful heirs. Also I desire that my administratrix would as soon as practicable pay of my largest debts which I owe first if my creditors will take such notes as I have and collect my book accounpts to be disposed of in paying of my just debts, the largest debt against my first pay till all is paid. I also desire that the above will which I have made in perfect mind and in sound me sound memory, should be by the County Court of Johnston County and the same be established and fulfill according to the true intent and meaning of these presents presents, In witness whereof, and in testimony of the same, I have hereunto set my hand my hand and affixed my seal on day in the year first above written.
