All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Deborah Scott Spencer info@professionalheritage.com October 19, 2010, 12:25 pm Source: North Carolina State Archives Written: September 26, 1763 Recorded: October 1763 In the Name of God Amen 26th Day of September Anno Domini 1763 I, William Pool of Johnston County being sick in Body but of Good and perfect Memory Thanks be to Almighty God and calling to Remembrance the uncertain Estate of this Transitory Life and that all flesh must yield unto Death when it Shall Please God to call Do make and Declare this my Last will and Testament in manner and form following: first being Penitent and sorry for all my sins most Humbly Desiring forgiveness for the same I commend my Soul unto almighty God my Saviour and Redeemer in whom and by whose Merits I trust and believe assuredly to be saved and to Have full Remission and forgiveness of all my sins and to Inherit the Kingdom of Heaven and my Body I Commit to the Earth to be Deacently buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named and for the Settling of my Temporal Estate and such Goods Chattels and Debts as it hath Pleased god to bestow upon me I do order and give and Dispose the same in manner and form following: Imprimis I give and Bequeath unto my well beloved son John my manner Plantation after my wifes Decease or marrying with one Hundred Acres more or less to begin on the River at a Place Called the Newford and so by a Line of marked trees to the Back Line at the Place where the beaverdam path Crosses the said Loin and Eight Pound proc [2nd page] Item I give and bequeath the other part of the said two Hundred acres Lying on the upper part of the Survey to my well beloved son Steven and ten pounds Proc Item I give and bequeath my Land Called the beaverdam Land unto my well beloved son Samuel and Ten Pounds Proc Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved Wife my Negro Woman Jenou and Likewise two feather Beds and furniture my Rideing Horse Rock and one mare Caled the Indian mare with a side saddle Called her saddle and Likewise Lend her the use of my manner plantation During her Life or widowhood. Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved Daughter Sarah one feather Bed and furniture and ten Pound Proc Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved Daughter Penalopy one feather Bed and furniture and ten Pound Proc. Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved Daughter Winnifred one feather Bed and furniture and fifteen Pound Proc. and if my wife should be with Child and that should be born and Live I do give and bequeath twenty five Pounds Proc. That my will and Desire is that all my stock horse Cattle Hoggs sheep and geese and Rifle gun and Arthur Branch Land be sold at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned Excepting what was here before mentioned all the Legases paid & the Rest of the moneys arising by the said sail to be equally Devided amongst all my Children.
