Johnston County, NC - Bettie E Radford Will

I, Bettie E Radford, of the aforesaid county and state, being of sound mind, but 
considering the uncertainty of death, do make, declare and publish this my last 
will and testament. 

First, I want out my estate a decent burial. 

Second, I give and bequeath unto my beloved neice Aggie Barden, one feather bed, 
mattress, bedstead (Northern Make), four (4) bed quilts,one pair of feather 
pillows, one feather bolster, one pair of sheets, and one counterpane. 

Third, I give and bequeath to my beloved neice, Bettie Gurley, one feather bed, 
mattress, bedstead (Northern Make) (4) four bed quilts, one pair of feather 
pillows, one feather bolster, one pair of sheets and one counterpane. 

Fourth, I give and bequeath to my beloved sister, Sally A Barden and to the 
heirs of her body all the property I have now or may have at the time of my 
death of any and all kinds including my interest in and to all real estate 
that I have now or at any future time may acquire provided that the said Sally 
A Barden shall pay to my beloved sisters Caroline Mitchell and Mary Gurley the 
sum of ten dollars each before she shall be entitled to my real estate, also 
that the said Sally A Barden or her legal representative shall purchase a suit 
of clothes for Leslie Radford when he shall arrive at the age of (18) eighteen 
not to cost less than ($10.00) ten dollars. 

Fourth, I hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend B R Edgerton, my 
lawful executor to all intents and purposes, to execute this my last will and 
testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same hereby revoking 
all other wills hertofore made by me. In witness whereof I the said Bettie E 
Radford do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 11th day of October 1899

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Bettie E Radford to be her 
last will and testament in our presence and we in her presence and the presence 
of each other, at her request hereto  subscribed our names as witnesses
