All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Harmon trekkergen@gmail.com July 18, 2015, 9:01 am Source: Raleigh State Archives Written: March 5, 1815 WILL OF ARTHUR SASSER IN THE NAME OF God amen, I Arthur Sasser of Johnston County in the State of North Carolina being of sound and perfect mind and memory (blessed be God)do this 5th day of March in the year of our Lord 1815 make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say: First – my will is that eighty acres of my land beginning at Jasper Keen’s land and James Watson’s land lying on the North side of Abram’s branch should be sold and the value thereof put to the use of paying my just debts. 2nd Item: I lend to my well beloved wife Elisabeth Sasser fifty acres of land including the plantation whereon I do now live on the North side and Abram’s branch joining Henry Sasser’s land also my feather bed and furniture, two cows and calves, one work horse, one wool wheel and cards one linen wheel, loom and gear, one water wash tub, pail and piggin? also one sow and pigs, one Bible, one chest and one iron pot, one Dutch oven, three chears and two stone mugs during her natural life or widow hood and at her second marriage or decease, my will is the above mentioned land should belong to my son, Josiah Sasser. I also give to sd Josiah my son one hundred and eighty acres of land more joining Henry Sasser and Thomas Atkinson’s lands it being the balance of my land. 3rd Item: I give to my daughter Nancy Sasser one cow and calf 4th Item: I give to my daughter Edith Sasser five shillings 5th Item: All the remainder of my property of whatsoever it be with the above mentioned personal property which I have lent to my wife, I desire it should be equally divided between my daughters, Nanny and my son, Josiah and my daughter, Sally and my daughter Elisabeth and my daughter Ceily and my daughter Penny and daughter Beady. An I hereby make and ordain my worthy friends Henry Sasser and my son, Josiah Sasser Executors of this my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I the said Arthur Sasser have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
