Devised November 9, 1813, Proven February 26/27, 1821. In the name of God Amen I Phereby Sauls of Johnston Co. and State of North Carolina being low and weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God do this ninth of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following (to wit) after all my just debts and funeral expenses is paid I dispose of what property it hath pleased God to bestow on me in manner following (to wit) First I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Phereby Sauls daughter of Redin Sauls one negro girl named Aggy to her, her heirs and assigns forever. Item I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Phereby Penny daughter of Alexander Penny ten pounds to her and her heirs and assigns to be paid her by my executor herein after named – and tis further my desire after my death whoever keeps my said granddaughter Phereby Sauls shall have the benefit of said negro Aggy for the support of my said grand daughter. And it is further my desire that after my death my negro boy Jery should be hired out for the term of five years and if William Johnson should come before the five years should expire that the said Jery is to be sold and and the money arising therefrom to be equally divided amongst my children that is now living (to wit) Esther Smith wife of Richard A. Smith, Sill Johnson, William Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Redin Sauls, David Sauls, Bellison Pool wife of Theophilus Pool. And it is further my desire that after my death all the remainder part of my property consisting of negros, household and kitchen furniture, my stock of horses cattle and hogs shall be sold by my executor herein after named and the money arising therefrom to be equally divided amongst my children that is now living, and I do hereby constitute and appoint my son David Sauls executor of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said Phereby Sauls have to this last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written. Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Phereby Sauls the testator as her last Will and Testament in presence of us who were present at the time of signing. W. Page 143, February 26, 1821, David Sauls nominated as Executor in the last Will and Testament of Phereby Sauls decd. came into Court & renounced his Right of Executorship to said decds. Will. Page 152, February 27, 1821, Administration with the Will annexed on the Estate of Phereby Sauls decd. is granted to Theophilus Pool who entered into Bond in the sum of $2,500 with Reuben Sanders and William Bryan his Securities and qualified agreeble to Law ordered said Adm.
