Devised [No Date], Probated June 1, 1790. In the Name of God Amen I Robert West of the County of Johnston and State of North Carolina being in a low state of health, but Thanks be to God of sound and perfect mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and Declare this my last will and Testament in manner and form following. Vizt. First I Give and Recommend my soul to God who Gave it Trusting in his Mercies and in the merits of my Dear Redeemer for Remission of all my sins Desiring that my Body may be disposed of in Christian Burial and to such Temporal Estate as God hath blest me with I Give Bequeath and Dispose of in the following manner. Item I Give & bequeath to my son James West Twenty Shillings specie money. Item I Give and bequath to my Grand Daughter Esther Johnson one Horse Bridle [and] Saddle. Item I Give and bequath to my Grand Daughter Jerusha Johnson one Cow and Calf. Item I Give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Druzilla Johnson one Cow and Calf. Item I Give and bequeath to my son in law Henry Johnson Eight head of cattle six deep pewter Plates two of my largest pewter Basons and one feather Bed. And my will is that the Remainder of my Household furniture and hogs be Equally divided between all my other children not yet here named Vizt Amy Joiner, Sealey Thorton [Sealey P. Johnson in recorded copy], Nathaniel West, Patience Mourning, & Isabell House. And I do hereby appoint my son in law Henry Johnson Executor of this my last will and Testament and I do hereby Disannull all former wills by me made Declaring this and no other to be my last will and Testament.
