Devised October 30, 1819. Probated May 30, 1821. In the Name of God Amen. I, Richard Whitenton, Sr. of the county of Johns[t]on and State of North Carolina being in a good stat[e] of health and mind and memory thanks be given to god calling to mine [mind] the mortality of my body knowing that it is a[p]pointed for all men once to die do make and ordane this my last will and testament that is to say principely and first of all I give my wif[e] Nancy Whitenton one feather bed and bedstead and furniture, one cow and calf, one year old colt, one dish, 1 bason, 2 plat[e]s, 2 spoons, 1 tub and pale, one iron shufle, one piggin, I lend unto my wife [to] belong to her and her heirs forever. I lend unto my wife Na. Whitenton these articles to wit, one dutch oven, one dish, one bason, 2 plat[e]s, 2 spoones, 2 tubs pale & piggin, one ax, to belong to her her life time or wider hood. Also I give and bequ[e]eath to my Son Solomon Whitenton one ca[l]f. Also I give my daughter Crecy Auston one bed. Also to Mary Wilder fifty cents five shillings. Also I give unto Sally Manord five shillings. Also I give my Son Richard Whitenton, Jr. five shillings. Also I give my Son James Whitenton five shillings. Also I give my Son Jonathan Whitenton one iron wedge. Also I give my daughter Peggy Johnson one pair of fire toungs. Also I give and bequ[e]ath to my Son William Whitenton one mare bridle and sad[d]le, one iron bound pare of cart wheeles & cart, one cow & calf, and the balance of eny and all my plantation working tools and all my household and kitching furniture and all my mooveble property after paying my de[b]ts that I leav[e] at my death and the property that I leave to my wife Na. Whitenton is at her death or the end of her wider hood is to belong to my Son Wm. Whitenton his heirs or a[s]signes and by him fre[e]ly to be persesed [possessed] and injoyed and I do her[e]by disal[l]ow revoke and dis[a]null all and every other testament wills legacies bequeaths and executors by me in any wise fore mencions willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and No other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have here unto Set my hand and Seal October the 30th 1819. Signed Sealed and published and declared by the said Rd Whitenton that his last will and testament in the presents of each other of us in his presents hav[e] here unto subscribed Reuben Barber Richard (+) Whitenton State of North Carolina, Johnston County May Term, 1821. Then was the Execution of this Will duly proven in open Court by the Oath of Reuben Barber and Ordered to be Recorded.
