To the Honorable the General Assembly of North Carolina

Gentlemen, we who have hereunto annexed our names reside in that section of 
Jones County which some few individuals wish annexed to Lenoir County.  
Gentlemen, we hope you will take our case in consideration and not pass any 
act to that amount as it will only gratify some few individuals of Lenoir 
County and discommade a number of the Inhabitants of Jones County.
