Jacob RHODES to Fountain WILLIAMS
Bk. 3 p. 9-10
25 Jan 1799

This Indenture mad this twenty fifth day of January in the Year of our Lord 1799, 
Between Jacob RHODES of the State of North Carolina and county of Jones of the 
one part and Fountain WILLIAMS of the State of No. Carolina and County aforesaid 
of the other part. Witnesseth that I the said Jacob RHODES for and In 
consideration of the sum of five pounds to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I 
do hereby acknowledge and for the same I have bargained & sold unto the said 
Fountain WILLIAMS his heirs & assigns a certain tract or parcel of Land in the 
County aforesaid and on the south side of Tuckahoe Creek beginning at a large 
pine in his own line and runs South one degree W 20 pole to a stake thence S 54 E 
52 Pole to Sd. WILLIAM’S own line thence N 3 pole to a pine his corner thence a 
direct line with his own line to the Beginning containing by estimation three 
acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid Land and 
premises with all and singular the privaledges thereunto belonging unto the said 
Fountain WILLIAMS his heirs and assigns forever and I the said Jacob RHODES doth 
for myself my heirs Executors & administrators covenant and agree to and with the 
said Fountain WILLIAMS that I will warrant and forever defend the said Lands 
against myself my heirs and assigns unto the said Fountain WILLIAMS his heirs 
Executors administrators and assigns forever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto 
set my hand and seal the day & date before written.

Then was the foregoing Deed of sale from Jacob RHODES to Fountain WILLIAMS was 
duly proved by the Oath of Amos JOHNSTON one of the subscribing evidence thereto 
and ordered to be Registered.
