It’s dignified; simplicity is surrounded by towering oak trees, beside the quiet of the old town cemetery. The cornerstone of the church was laid in May 1885, and on its first roster of members were the family names of Foscue, Brock, Brogden and Smith. Its first pastor was the Rev. Israel Harding. The pastor today for the 50 odd members is the Rev. Jack Rountree of Kinston, who holds services there every third Sunday.
