I Michael Becton of Jones County and State of North-Carolina, being well in body and of sound mind and memory, and knowing the uncertainty of this Transitory life. Doe make and ordain this my Last will and Testament in manner and form Following to Witt. First I Lend Unto my beloved wife Mary Becton my Four Negroes named Cato, Sambo, Moll and Philles. and Five head of horse kind viz. Jack, True Aushey Poll & Paxette And all and every part and parcell of my household goods and Kitchen furniture, all my Plantation Tools and every other Tools of any kind whatever. Two yoak of Oxen all my stock of cattle hogs and sheep and all my Crop of every kind standing on the plantation or hous'd. Untill my youngest Child shall arrive of age or day of marriage. Allso it is my will and desire, that my said wife Mary Becton shall have the use and Labour of each of my Childrings legeaseys here= =after given untill as they arrive to Lawfull age or day of marriage. Also it is my will that my said wife Mary Becton shall maintain and give all my Children good Education also. pay to my Son-in-law Benjamin Simmons the sum of Five Pounds Currenty money in full of his part of my Estate Besides what I have hereto-fore given him. which will be hereafter devised to him by this my Will. And Also she my said wife is to pay and Discharge all my Just debts without any cost charge or Demand against any of my Children or their Estates Item. I give devise and bequeath to my son-in-law Benjamin Simmons Five Pounds Current Money to be paid to him by my wife as aforesaid in full of his part of my Estate besides what I have heretofore given him his heirs & Assigns Item. I give devise and bequeath to my son William Metts Becton One Negroe boy named Sam to him and his heirs and Assigns for Ever_ Item [page] Item. I give devise and bequeath to my son John Blackman Becton One negroe by named Norris to him his heirs and Assigns forever. Item. I give devise and bequeath to my Daughter Ann Elizabeth Becton Three Female negroes named Eave Violet and Venus and their future Increase to her and her heirs and Assigns for ever_ and also all the stock of Cattle that is in her own mark to her and her heirs and Assigns for ever _ Item. I give devise and bequeath to my Daughter Polly Becton Three Female negroes named Bette Dinah & Silvey to her and her heirs and Assigns for ever. and Also the future Increase of the aforesaid negroes to her and her heirs and Assigns forever Item. I give Devise and bequeath to my son Frederick Isler Becton Five negroes named Mime Dilley, Little Moll, Sall and Absolom and their future Increase and all the stock of Cattle that is in his own mark & also hogs in the same mark, to him his heirs and Assigns forever_ Item. I give Devise and bequeath to my Son Bryan Becton. One Hundred Acres of Land lying in Lenoir County Joining Elijah Kellam and all the debts due me by notes bonds Book Accounts or otherwise. and Six Negroes named, Bine Jeshey, Little Cato, London Clancy and Jack. and their future Increase. to him his heirs and Assigns forever Item. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Becton all and every part of my estate which is by this my will here =to=fore lent to her my said wife. when ever my Youngest Child shall arrive to Lawfull age or day of Marriage. To her and her heirs and Assigns for ever And if my said wife at her Death see cause to Will the aforesaid property, before my youngest Child shall arrive of age or day of marriage. then and in that case it is my will and Desire, that my Executors hereafter named, Doe take in to their Possession the said Estate untill the arrival of age or marriage of my aforesaid youngest Child. To [page] To Enable them to maintain and Educate my Four youngest children untill they shall arrive to Lawfull age or day of their marriage, and at the youngest Childs arriving of age or day of marriage, the remainder and residue of the said Estate heretofore mensioned is hereby Directed to be by my Executors given up to be disposed of Agreeable to the Will of my aforesaid Wife. Lastly. I doe hereby Nomininate Constitute and appoint my Trusty and beloved sons William Metts Becton, and John Blackman Becton hole & sole Executors to this my Laste Will and Testament. Desannulling all other Wills hereto- fore by me made, and this to be my Last Will and Testament and no other.
