A. p. 763 Written: 10 July 1790 Probated: February Term 1792 In the Name of God, Amen The Tenth Day of July one thousand and seven Hundred and Ninety, I Hardy JONES in the state of North Carolina in Jones County being very weak in Boddy but in perfect mine and memory Thanks be Given, therefore calling unto mind the Mortality of my Boddy and knowing that it is appointed for all men now to Die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all, I Give and Recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty Godd that gave it and my Boddy, I recommend to the Earth to be Buryed in Decent Christian Burial at the Descretion of my Executors nothing Doubting but at the general Resurrection, I shall Receive the same again by the Mighty Power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to Bless me in this life, I give Desire and Dispose of the same in the following manner and form; and first I give and Bequeath to Barbary my Dear beloved Wife my Lands and Plantation and all the working too During her life or widowhood and after her Marriage or Death to be for my Daughter, Levina JONES also I give to Barbary my wife my negro woman CATE During her life and then for her and her increase to my Daughter Levina JONES and also my Negro Girl VENUS, I give to my wife Barbary During her life or widowhood and after that to my Daughter Levina JONES and secondly I give and Bequeath to my Well Beloved Daughter Levina JONES my negro girl CLOE and my Negro boy GEORGE to be possessed by her and to be possessed by her and her heirs forever. I also give and bequeath to my Wife Barbary, four cows and calves and all the remainder of my cattle I give to my daughter Levina JONES and also I give to my well Beloved wife Barbary one feather Bed and furniture and all the House and Kitch furniture to her for life or widowhood and after marriage or death to be to my Daughter Levina JONES. I likewise constitute make and ordain John JONES and James RHODES my Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and I also hereby Disallow Revoke and Disannul all and every other former testaments wills, legasses, Bequeaths and Executors by me in anywise before named Willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Day and Year first Written.
