RALPH COGGINS

  Ralph Coggins, 76, of 509 Cedar Court, died Tuesday in Louise Obici 
Memorial Hospital.
  He was a native of Sanford, N.C.
  He was the husband of Mrs. Annie Laurie Holland Cobbins and son of the 
late Willis Oscar Coggins and Mrs. Annie Pierce Coggins. He was a member of 
the Suffolk Christian Church and a retired teacher and merchant.
  Besides his widow surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie C. McCrary of 
Suffolk and Mrs. Mima Anne Piedmont of Carolina Beach, N.C.; one 
fosterdaugter, Mrs. Betty Ann Layden of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. Florence 
Johnson and Mrs. Leola Turner and one brother, Wilbur J. Coggins all of 
Sanford, N.C. and seven grandchildren.
  A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in 
Cedar Hill Cemetery, by Rev. R.E. Brittle.
  The funeral procession will leave the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home at 
10:45 a.m.
  The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
  Memorial may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad.
