ALEXANDER HILL BIBLE

Original Bible in the possession of Mrs. E. C. Averette or her son E. C.
Averette, Jr. of Winterville, NC, copy in my possession. I do not have a
copy of the front page.

Alexander Hill was the son of Richard and Mary Rouse Hill. Richard and his
brother, Levi, moved to Lenoir County from Craven County. Mary Rouse was
the daughter of Simon Rouse. Finette was the daughter of Jonathan and
Catherine Hardee Rouse. Her name is spelled Phinettey in her parent's
Bible. Alexander's 2nd wife, Martha Hill, was part of the Greene County
Robert Hill family. The last entry refers to Alexander, the son of
Alexander and Finette. The Bible clearly states he married Mary Ann Spivey;
however, the wife of Richard C. Hill, Martha Nunn, said Mary Ann was her
sister so Mary Ann could have been a widow.

Finetee Rouse daughter of Jonathan Rouse and Catherine his wife was born
the 4th day of February 1812

Alexander Hill son of Alex and Finetee Hill was born August the 19th 1833

Emily Jane Hill daughter of Alexander Hill and Finetee his wife was born
14th July 1835

Mary Ann Catharine Hill daughter of Alexander and Finette Hill was born May
the 22d 1837

Sally Maria Hill daughter of Alexander and Finette Hill was born September
the 16th 1838

Elizabeth Ann Hill daughter of Alexander and Finette Hill was born the 15th
June 1841

Louisa Hill daughter of Alexander and Finette Hill was born the 26th
September 1844

Richard C. Hill son of Alexander and Finette Hill was born 29th of July 1846

Thomas Woodley Hill, son of Alex and Finetta Hill was born on Thursday,
13th April AD 1848

MARRIAGES

Alexander Hill son of Richard Hill & Mary his wife, was married to Finetta
Rouse, daughter of Jonathan Rouse & Catherine his wife on the 9th day of
February AD One thousand Eight Hundred & thirty two

Alexander son of Richard Hill & wife was married to Martha Hill daughter of
Richard Hill & Ester his wife on the 19th of November in the year 1848

Alexander Hill and Mary Ann Spivey were married Dec. 9th AD 1858
