Nathan was the son of Stephen Wetherington. Nathan died in 1810 but the birth date of William was written by his son who may have gotten the year incorrect in the Bible. 1.WILLIAM WITHERINGTON b 1 Jan 1811 in NC m 1) Mary Ann Matthews, b. 22 Aug 1815 (marriage was on 2 Aug 1832 Houston Co. Mary Ann Elizabeth Frances b. 7 Sept 1841 WILLIAM WITHERINGTON m 2) Harriet Emeline Noblin 28 Aug. 1845, Houston Co., Ga. Emeline was b. Jan. 1819 and died Feb. 9, 1908 in Pike Co., Alabama issue: 7.Martha Jane. b 12 Jan 1849 8. Sarah Ann b. 28 Dec 1850 9. Robert Franklin b. 25 Apri 1855 10. Theodocia b. 16 Aug. 1857 Note: James W. died of disease while serv in Civil War in Feb 1863 in Richmond,Va Note: John W. died of injuries sustained while fighting in Civil War in Richmond, Va. is buried in Holly Hill Cemetery, Richmond, Va. (This information was Found in Confederate Solidiers of Georgia.) Daniel Ross and his father, William went to enlist in Civil War, Daniel Ross was inducted in the served in 1862--according to some records I found in a library in Tampa, Fl. William died on April 11, 1861. I don't think he was ever inducted or enrolled in the war but got sick and died before he got there. Daniel R. was paroled in April 1965 I believe and came home and had about 10 children. Williams family lived in Georgia until after 1855 and the last child Theodocia was born in Alabama. Robert Franklin Witherington was my great grandfather and he and his wife Died when my grandfather and his sister were 6 and 4 years old respectively. He and his wife, Winnie Pope died in April and May of 1888. .
