Lenoir County Probate Court - 7 October 1872 - Kedar Hines is dead without a will and James M. Hines has qualified as executor 2. Articles from estate of Kedar Hines alloted to Smithy Hines widow by Wm. A. Coleman, JP, O. J. Pate and Ellis Sugg. There is a short list of items. In addition to the widow, there are two children, not named 3. 1 November 1858 - entered on the stray book of Lenoir Co by Edwin Taylor, Jr - a stray mear (sic) valued by two freeholders, Charles Holland and Joseph Waller, at $15.00 - March Term 1859 - Green Taylor, Ranger (This appears to be a rangers Report) 4. Board of Supervisors Institute Township - 5 February 1887 To Wm. Tilyhman (sic) - you are appointed overseer on public road No 2 from Greene Swamp Bridge to Greene Co line on Hull Road and the small piece of public road between Noah Allen's line and S. Byrd land leading to Wheat Swamp. You will work as hands all able bodied males between the ages of 18 and 45 years old on the lands of John P. Gray, J. W. Creech, Aldrey farm, James Elmore, Noah L.
