END OF DOCUMENT Comments: Strabane is a small community at the crossroads of U.S. Highway 55 and Hardy Bridge Road, approximately one mile south of the Neuse River and the Bucklesberry community. A U.S. Post Office operated at Strabane from 1828 to 1905. It was likely located in the building that was last occupied by the New Brothers Grocery Store (demolished), formerly owned and operated by the late Braxton and Herdon 'Rock' Newman. The store was situated on the northeast corner of the crossroads. See list of Lenoir County, NC Post Offices that operated from 1785: http://www.carolana.com/NC/Towns/Lenoir_POs.htm
