The items invoiced for July 26, 1809 and March 31, 1810 are identical to the items invoiced in another invoice-receipt in this Collection, also dated 1810. However, there is a discrepancy in the date for which payment was receipted for these items. In the other document, the payment receipt date was November 29, 1810. The current document indicates a payment receipt date of November 18, 1810. Perhaps one of the two documents was a follow-up reminder, or, more likely, a cumulative summary of the other. Additional items invoiced in this document appear below the November 18 by cash receipt date. It is interesting and significant that the additional items purchased were invoiced on September 15, 1810, a date that occurred prior to the November 18 receipt date for the previous items purchased. Also, whereas the previous items purchased were assessed in British monetary units, the additional purchased items in this document were invoiced in the U.S. monetary system.
