JESSIE TO [UNIDENTIFIED] LETTER, 1846

Dear Sir            1st Jany 1846 
        If Nat is to hire again I 
will give you the same for him 
another year I had heard he was 
not being hired another year is the reason 
why I had said nothing to you 
about hiring I am lend him some 
cloathing which I will give him. 
                  Jessie ?

transcription. Nat's last name is not
identified nor is the recipient of the 
letter. The content of the letter 
suggests that Nat was a slave.
