      I guess I 
had better answer as 
you know what you 
said Sat. evening. 
I guess you went to 
church Sun. I wanted 
to go, but I didn’t 
feel like it. I guess 
the other girls were 
there alright. I know 
you are sorry to see 
such rainy weather so 
you can’t work. I expect 
I will go down the road 
about Sat. evening. Lorena 
said she might stay with 
me  Sat. night. If she does, 
I will go after her. I’m looking

Lorena was Wessie Lorena (Rena) Elmore, 
daughter of Joel Hardy and Fannie Rouse 
Elmore. Joel was son of Joel and Martha 
(Patsy) Sutton Elmore. Martha was daughter 
of Hardy and Annie Hill Sutton.
