Picture made about 1895 END OF DOCUMENT Comments: On a separate copy of this original photograph, Clellan Sutton wrote, “Reproduction of Family picture of Julius and Nansetta Sutton about 1890," a date that varies slightly with the 1895 date recorded on the back side of the original photograph. Other sources indicate the correct spelling of Nansetta was Nancetta. Built between 1830-1840, the homeplace house was first occupied by Hardy and Annie Hill Sutton and their 14 children. Son, Julius, inherited the house. Julius Eri (1847-1925) and Nancetta (Sutton) Sutton (1857-1929) had ten children: Annie Elizabeth (1870-1940); Joseph Hardy (1872-1895); Thomas Needham (1874-1951); Herman, Sr. (1876-1958); Vivan Glendora (1879-1882); Lee Roy (1881-1975); Julian (1884-1943); Amy Clyde (1886-1943); Jessie Etucka (1889-1962); and Walter Clark (1891-1918). Pictured, left to right: George Willie Rouse, Jr., son-in-law; Annie Elizabeth Sutton Rouse; Vivian Mae Rouse; granddaughter; Junius; Nancetta; Lee Roy; Walter Clark; Jessie Etucka; unknown girl; unknown girl; Amy Clyde; Julian; and Thomas Needham. Vivian Glendora and Joseph Hardy were deceased by 1895, the year the photograph was taken. Herman, Sr. was absent from the picture.
