Carmon was the grandson of Martha (Patsy) Sutton Elmore
(1829-1922), who was the daughter of Hardy Sutton (1803-
1871) and Annie Hill Sutton (1807-1881). Hardy was the
son of Benjamin and Sarah Hardy Sutton.
