Lenoir County, NC - Phineas Davenport Family Farm Cemetery ~~~~~~~~~~ PHINEAS DAVENPORT FAMILY FARM CEMETERY This cemetery is located in Woodington Township in Lenoir County. It can be accessed from Highway 58 near the Vine Swamp curve by taking Rusty Lee Road (SR 1916) to its termination with Parker Fork Road (SR1912), then turn left and the homeplace home is .2 mile on the left (diagram below). The cemetery cannot be seen from the road, but it is located in a field edge far behind this wooden frame home. It is unfenced. The persons listed below are buried in it: Phineas (Finn) Davenport born 11-20-1840 died 7-7-1922 (Has wooden headmarker) Winifred (Winnie) Brown Davenport born 12-21-1844 died 8-7-1922 wife of Phineas and daughter of Fred Brown. (Has wooden headmarker) Council Davenport born 8-30-1871 died 1-14-1932 (Death Cert is accurate at 1933) Blanche Davenport born 7-11-1906 died 1-13-1908 daughter of Council & Lou Cleaver Thomas (C. T.) Davenport born 11-6-1915 died 10-11-1916 (death Cert reads 10-17-1916) son of Council & Lou Frank Davenport born 6-5-1878 died 6-6-1960 Lillie Smith Davenport born 6-12-1895 died 2-20-1936 wife of Frank Guilford Davenport born 12-3-1880 died 9-11-1949 (Pvt 44 CO ARTY) Ida Davenport Smith born 9-1-1886 died 1-22-1905 She was married to William Taylor. They were married 12-2-1903. (Is buried in unmarked grave and died from childbirth of daughter Kathleen as related by Nannie Mae Davenport Morris).
