Walter Dunn appointed Agent for John Q. Dunn, 1842

Know all men by these presents that I John Q. Dunn of the county of Lenoir and 
state of N. Carolina have made nominated and appointed and by these presents do 
make nominate and appoint Walter Dunn of the county of Lenoir and state of N 
Carolina my true and lawful agent and attorney in fact for me and in my name and 
for my use and benefit to ask demand sue for recover and receive of and find any 
and all persons indebted to me in any manner or form whatever all such sum or 
sums of money or specified articles as or are in anywise due or may hereafter 
become due and any contact or agreement heretofore made and to have use and take 
all lawful ways and means in my name or otherwise for the recovery thereof either 
by sueing and preventing any and all manner of legal process or by compounding 
arbitrating all ordering to his best discretion and all proper and necessary 
acquittences or other sufficients released and discharged as well the settlement 
of all my honest debts or the collections for me and in my name to make seal and 
deliver and to do all lawful acts and things whatsoever concerning the premisis 
as fully and effectually in every respect as I myself might or could do and I 
personally present.

In testimony whereof I the said John Q. Dunn do hereunto set my hand and seal 
this 15th Sept. A.D. 1842.

and died September 11, 1860, aged 38 years, 2 mos, 19 days)
