Lenoir County, NC - BYRD vs RIGBY, 1818 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ # 577 BYRD vs RIGBY 1818 Lenoir County – Lemuel Byrd vs Mary Rigby and Nathaniel Loomis adm vs Owen Rigby, Jonathan Rigby and David Grinto NOTE: There is little information in this folder but based on other cases it can be assumed this was probably in regards to an estate where the deceased maybe owed money. Although it did not say who the deceased was, it can be assumed it was a Rigby. Concerning debt – the jury found the writing (assume of the note) obligating to be the act of defendants intestate and the defendants Jonathan Rigby and David Grinto and that the dollars are of the value of 115.1.3 (pounds, shillings etc) – paid on 6 Oct 1810 was the amount of 40.10.0 and that the residue remains unpaid – the jury assess the plf damages of 27.13.1 and they also find the defendants have not fully administrated and have assets of 122.0.9 – 1 Jan 1818 – Kinston, NC ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
