WIGGINS administrator for Caleb WIGGINS defendant. Certain differences exist between Benjamin F. WIGGINS, Executor of Caleb WIGGINS deceased and Arden WIGGINS, Cicero WIGGINS, Richard M. WIGGINS, John C. WIGGINS, Susan TURNAGE, Fred JONES and wife Nancy, Jesse HEATH and his wife Vicy, James SKINNER and wife Louisa heirs at law and devisies of said Caleb WIGGINS deceased in regard to certain property. 20 Sept. 1878 To Sheriff of Greene Co.: Summon Susan TURNAGE and Richard M. WIGGINS 26 March 1881 Will of Caleb WIGGINS (a copy not recorded) I give to my son Arden WIGGINS ___acres of land. I give to my son B.F. WIGGINS my home plantation. I loan to my wife property.. and after her death to be sold and divided. I appoint Benjamin F. WIGGINS executor. Arden WIGGINS sued Benjamin F. WIGGINS but died during pendency. 23 Oct 1885 To Lenoir Co. Sheriff: Summon Jacob LANGSTON, Lewis LANGSTON, Mathew WIGGINS, Charles WIGGINS, Mary WIGGINS, Julia EDWARDS, Martha CRAFT, Lucretta STRICKLAND 14 March 1881. (These lengthy statements provide insight to life during Civil War times. These are all separate signed depositions) The widow died in August 1874 or 1875. SKINNER married one of the widows grandaughters. My father bought 27 acres about 25 years before his death, signed Arden WIGGINS Caleb WIGGINS died January 11 1861 signed Lewis DAUGHTERY Charles WIGGINS says "I belonged to Caleb WIGGINS...." Mary WIGGINS says" I belonged to Caleb WIGGINS in 1860...." Judy WIGGINS says "I belonged to Caleb WIGGINS" Benjamin WIGGINS says" I was married in 1861..." Nancy JONES says "I am daughter of Caleb WIGGINS..." Susan TURNAGE says "I am daughter of Caleb WIGGINS" Richard M. WIGGINS says" Grandmother died in 1874..." Matthew WIGGINS says "I belonged to Caleb WIGGINS..." Vicey HEATH says I am daughter of Caleb WIGGINS.." File: WYATT CICERO WIGGINS 1878 (large file) Wyatt Cicero and brother John Charles WIGGINS were partners in cotton gin. B.H. LANGSTON " Wyatt Cicero WIGGINS father of ward of plantiff and only child. Mother of child died 3-4 years before Wyatt Cicero WIGGINS. He married my daughter. File: WYATT CICERO WIGGINS 1887 S.H. LOFTIN guardian of Mary E.W. WIGGINS vs Richard M. WIGGINS admr. File: ARDEN WIGGINS 1887 1 Dec. 1879 Wyatt Cicero WIGGINS died in Lenoir County leaving his infant daughter Mary E. W. WIGGINS without guardian and with considerable estate and property, said daughter only heir. John C. WIGGINS appointed guardian 27 Dec. 1879. Arden WIGGINS the intestate defendant and one of the sureties on said guardian bonds of John C. WIGGINS died in Lenoir 1 March 1885 and defendant F.M. ROUNDTREE was appointed his administrator on 21 March 1885. Mary Eugini Winifred WIGGINS and John C. WIGGINS had not reported estate properly and had held on to it illegally.
