Deed: Lucinda ABBOTT to Thomas HARVEY,Sr.: 23 March 1855, Lenoir Co.,N.C. This Indenture made the 23rd day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty five between Lucinda ABBOTT of the county of Lenoir and State of North Carolina of the one part & Thomas HARVEY of the same county & state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Lucinda ABBOTT for and in consideration of the sum of forty dollars here on hand paid by the Thomas HARVEY at or before the unsealing and delivering of these presents the receipt and payment where is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and by these presents doth bargain sell their ---- of and convey unto the said Thomas HARVEY his heirs and assigns forever-all of one certain ---- tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the aforesaid County of Lenoir on the North side of Neuse River known as part of the Meadow Land bounded as follows by John P. DUNNS?, John KINGS land Thomas HARVEY and others contains one hundred acres, therefore being an undivided tract of land belong to the heirs of Peter PHILLIPS, dec'd. To the said Lucinda ABBOTT sell to the said Thomas HARVEY my share of the said tract of land suppose to be one fifth be their the same more or less to have and to hold the above bargained premises with all and singular of the improvements, appurtenances, privileges and commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appurtenancing and I the said Lucinda ABBOTT do by their presents obligate and bind myself-my heirs executor and administrator to warrant and ever to defend the right and title of the above bargain on promises unto the said Thomas HARVEY his heirs and assigns forever free and clear of all rents, rights titles claims or demands of me, myself-my heirs and all and every other person or persons whatever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written signed, sealed, acknowledged and deliver in presents of: L.H.
