Lenoir County, NC - Deeds - Elizabeth Bond to Joseph B. Taylor, 1860 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The original of this DEED is in the possession of Charles A. and Glenn Dickerson Leath, Chapin, South Carolina 29036. Deed from Elizabeth Bond to Joseph B. Taylor This indenture made this Twenty ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and Sixty between Elizabeth Bond of the County of Lenoir and State of North Carolina on the one part and Joseph B. Taylor of the County and State aforesaid on the other art witnessth that the said Elizabeth Bond for in consideration of the sum of Seven hundred dollars to her in hand paid at and before the the (sic) Execution and delivering of these presents the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained sold aleaned and confirmed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell alean and confirm unto the said Joseph B Taylor his heirs assigns a certain tract or parcel of land Situated Lying and being in the County of Lenoir on the North side of the nuse river (sic) adjoining the lands of Lemuel W Aldridge Thomas Harvey and bounded as follows (Viz) beginning at a stake on the ditch being the beginning of Lot No 1 in the division of the lands of Robert Bond deceased and runs No. 13 ¾ ___112 poles to a stake in the Harveys line thence with his line 53 ___112 poles to a stake thence 39 ____ 7 poles & 19 links to a stake thence 38 ¼ poles & 6 links to a stake342/3 Et 83 poles 23 links to a Maple in Lemuel H Aldridge corner thence No 581/4 Et 75 poles to another Aldridges corners on the ditch thence with the ditch to the beginning containing Seventy five acres more or less to have and to hold the above bargained lands and premises unto the said Joseph B. Taylor his Heirs and assigns I (sic) fee Simple forever and the said Elizabeth Bond and her heirs all and Singular the presents herby conveyed to the Said Joseph B. Taylor his Heirs and assigns do and will warrant and forever defend from the lawful claims of and all persons whatsoever In witness where of I hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written. her Signed sealed and delivered Elizabeth X Bond In presence of mark Seal Thomas Harvey X Bettie Harvey Lenoir County in the Probate Court The execution of the forgoing and _____ deed from Elizabeth Bond to Jos B Taylor ____ This 30t day Sept 1869._____ before the undersigned judge of Probate for said County by the Oath & examination of Bettie Harvey.
