Mason http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00022.html#0005225 February 5, 2020, 4:30 pm Written: 1859 Register of Deeds Office Lenoir County, NC Bk. 2, p. 629-630 Charles CLARK of Lenoir Co., NC to Alexander WATSON of Lenoir Co., NC 28 Nov. 1859 This Indenture made this twenty eighth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty nine between Charles CLARK of the County of Lenoir and State of North Carolina of the one part and Alexander B. WATSON of the County and State aforesaid of the other part; Witnesseth that the said Charles CLARK for and in consideration of the sum of One Thousand forty five dollars to him in hand paid at the time of executing these presents the recipe whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Alexander B. WATSON his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the County of Lenoir on the North Side of Neuse River adjoining the lands of Council H. CLARK and others and bounded as follows viz: Beginning at a Cypress in Stonington Creek at a bend of the Creek called the Mill Dam hole and runs N 68 1/4 W 8, 44 poles to a large marked Pine upon the hill then N 40 W 8, 58 poles to the center of the mellon road thence N 5 1/4 E 109 poles & 15 Links to a Stake West of the road then S 52 1/4 E 202 poles to a Stake then S 46 1/2 W 7? poles to a large Pine on the Creek bank at the Indigo hole thence up the various courses of the Creek to the beginning, containing one hundred and seven acres more of less, it being the Fifth lot in the division of the land of the late Reuben CLARK. To have and to hold the above described land and premises unto him the said Alexander B. WATSON his heirs and assigns in fee simple forever, And the said Charles CLARK and his heirs all and Singular the premises hereby conveyed to the said Alexander B. WATSON his heirs and assigns, do and will warrant and forever defend from the lawful claims of any and persons whatsoever. In witness thereof the said Charles CLARK had hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written. Charles CLARK (seal) Signed, sealed and delivered In presence of Charles M. GRIFFIN, Witness State of North Carolina Lenoir County December 3rd, 1859 Then was the execution of the foregoing deed proved before me in due form of Law by the oath of C.
