Hill and J. Paul Hill North Carolina, Lenoir County This indenture made and entered into this 28th day of December, 1920, by and between J.M. Creech and wife, Kate Creech, parties of the first part, and F.D. Hill and J. Paul Hill, parties of the second part, witnesseth, - That first parties for and in consideration of the sum of three thousand six hundred and ninety ($3690.00) dollars to them in hand paid by the parties of the second part, receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have and by these presents do bargain sell convey and confirm unto the second parties, their heirs and assigns in fee-simple forever the following described tract or parcel of land situate in Institute Township, Lenoir County, adjoining other lands of J.M. Creech, F.D. Hill, and others and begins at a stake on the road (at the center of the bridge) northwest of the J.M. Creech residence and runs N 19 W 61 poles to a corner, thence S 73 ˝ W 38 ˝ poles to a corner, thence S 47 W 43 poles to an iron stake, thence S 79 E 90 poles to the beginning, containing sixteen and 4/10 acres, To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land to the said second parties, their heirs and assigns in fee-simple forever, and the first parties covenant to and with the second parties that they are seized of said premises in fee and have a good right to convey the same and that they will warrant and defend the title to the same against the lawful claims of all persons. In testimony whereof the first parties, J. M. & Kate Creech, have hereunto set their hands and seals the date first above written. Creech and his wife, Kate Creech, personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the foregoing conveyance; and the said Kate Creech, being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth sate that she signed the same freely and voluntarily and without fear or compulsion on the part of her said husband or of any other person and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
