Hill North Carolina, Lenoir County This Deed made this 22nd day of November, 1919, by and between J.B. Creech and wife, Bertie C. Creech, of Lenoir County, North Carolina, parties of the first part, and F.D. Hill, of the County and State aforesaid, party of the second part, WITNESSETH: That the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Nine Thousand Dollars, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land situate in Institute Township, Lenoir County, North Carolina, adjoining the lands of H.W. Brothers, Henry Gregory, J.M. Creech and others, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a stake on the run of Wheat Swamp and runs S 83 ¼ W 96 poles; thence S 80 ¼ W 56 ½ poles; thence N 44 ½ W 54 poles ; thence S 22 W 58 poles; thence S 52 ½ E 72 poles; thence N 47 ½ E 42 poles; thence N 72 ½ E 38 ½ poles; thence N 67 ½ E 17 poles; thence S 18 E 61 poles to Spring Branch; thence down the run of said Branch to Wheat Swamp; thence up the run to Wheat Swamp to the beginning, containing 76 acres more or less. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above described tract or parcel of land with all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to him, the said F.D. Hill, party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, in fee simple. And the said parties of the first part covenant to and with the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, that they are seized of said lands in fee and have a good and perfect right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same are free and clear of encumbrance; and that they will warrant and defend the title thereto against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF the said J. B. Creech and wife, Bertie C. Creech, parties of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, this day and year first above written, J.B. Creech and wife, Bertie C. Creech, personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution by them of the foregoing deed; and the said Birdie C. Creech, being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution thereof, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
