Dail to Franklin D. Hill, Dec. 23, 1904 STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA, LENOIR COUNTY. THIS DEED made this 23rd day of December 1904 by Franklin Dail and Lula S. Dail of Lenoir County and State of North Carolina of the first part, to Franklin D. Hill of Lenoir County and State of North Carolina of the second part, WITNESSETH: That said Franklin DalI and Lula S. Dail in consideration of Sixty-three (63) 75/100 Dollars to them paid by the said Franklin D. Hill, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, and by these presents doth bargain, sell and convey to said Franklin D. Hill and heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land in Institute Township Lenoir County, State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of Franklin Dail and others bounded as follows, viz: Beginning at a Iightwood stake near the ditch West from Franklin D. Hill’s house The corner of the Isabel Wilson land and runs S 5 % W 15 po and 5 links to a stake in the field Then S 67 % E 81 po to the run of White Marsh Then N 71 E 2 P0 and 16 links to a Blackgum on said run Then N 64 1/4 W 51 po to a lightwood stake Then N 61 W 20 pa to a Iightwood stump Then N 59 W 14 1/4 po to the Beginning (Isabel Wilson’s corner) containing Four (4) acres more or less. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging, to the said Franklin D. Hill heirs and assigns to their only use and behoof forever. AND THE SAID Franklin Dail and wife Lula S. Dail covenant to and with the said Franklin D. Hill heirs and assigns for ever that They are seized of said premises in fee, and have a right to convey the same in fee simple: that same are free from all incumbrances, and that They will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. Dail his wife personally appeared before me this day, and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed of conveyance, and the said Lula S. Dail being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same; doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband, or of any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto this 22nd day of December 1904.
