Lenoir County, NC – Deeds – J.P. Dunn to Walter Dunn, 1830 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lovit Hines Collection, 1737-1914 This Indenture entered into this 27th day of Nobember 1829 between J.P. Dunn of the one part and Walter Dunn of the other part both of the County of Lenoir & State of No. Carolina Witnesseth that for and in considertion of the sum of eighteen hundred dollars to the said J.P. Dunn in hand paid by the said Walter Dunn the receipt whereof is hereby fully acknowledged, the said J.P. Dunn has bargain Sold aliened, confirmed & conveyed & by these presents does bargain, Sell, alien & convey unto the said Walter Dunn his heirs executors Administrators and assigns for ever a Certain tract or parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the County of Lenoir on the North side of Neuse river & on both Sides of Jericho Branch near the head thereof being part of three Surveys made by Job Ivey, Simon Bright and Richard Caswell, bounded as follows viz. Beginning at Walter Dunn’s own Corner in Jericho Branch in Iveys line & runs with Said Walters line No. 70 polls to a small oak a corner made between Said Walter & Will Lovicks, thence with another of Said Walter’s lines of his Black land West 34 polls to his corner, thence with another of his lines no. 75 West 360 polls to a Water Oak in a pond Said Walter’s Corner also Henry Tull’s Corner thence with Tull’s line So. East 122 polls to a Stake Tull’s Corner, then with said Tulls next two lines to John Washington’s line thence with Washingtons line No. 88 __ East 54 polls to a pine & oak near the path Washington’s Corner, thence with another of Washington’s lines So 27 East 100 polls to where Said line crosses a Branch, thence up the line at courses of Said Branch to a maple near a path a corner made between John Washington’s & William Lovick thence with a line of marked trees made between Washington & Lovick No. 42 East 120 polls to a stake in the center of three gums in Jericho Branch a corner also made between Said Washington & Lovick and thence down the various Courses of Jericho Branch to the Beginning containing by estimation three hundred acres more or less. And all houses buildings orchards profits & appurtenances whatsoever belonging to the same and also all the Estate right, title or property claimed by him the said J.P. Dunn in or to the said premises. To have & to hold the lands hereby bargained & sold, with the appurtenances, to the only proper end and behoofs of him the said Walter Dunn his heirs and assigns forever. And the Said J.P. Dunn for himself his heirs Executors Administrators or assigns does hereby convenant promise and grant to & with the Said Walter Dunn, his heirs and assigns that he is seized of a good Sure, and indefensable estate in fee simple of and in the premises aforesaid and that he has absolute authority to sell & convey the same unto the said Walter Dunn and does hereby warrant and will forever defend the title of the Same unto the said Walter Dunn his heirs exer’s Admr’s or assigns against the lawful claim or claims of all persons whatsoever.
