WEST Deed Book 1, page 533 6 Dec. 1877 Register of Deeds Office Kinston, N.C. State of North Carolina Lenoir County This deed made this 6th day of December 1877 by Jesse F. DUPREE, Execr. Of F. G. DUPREE of Lenoir County, State of North Carolina to W. H. WEST of the County and State aforesaid, Witnesseth that the said Jesse F. DUPREE, Execr. of F. G. DUPREE in consideration of the sum of two hundred sixteen & 25/100 dollars to him paid by W. H. WEST the receipt is hereby acknowledged and sold and by these presents do bargain sell and convey to the said W. H. WEST and his heirs a tract or parcel of land in Lenoir County, State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of Seth WEST, J. W. BROADWAY and others, Beginning at the river near the graveyard and running eastward with the road to Poly Branch then with Poly branch near Neuse road going Southward to Amos RHEMS line now Seth WESTS then with his line to the river then down the river to the first Station containing forty acres more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land and all privileges and appurtenance thento belonging to the said W. H. WEST and his heirs and assigns to their own use and behoof and the said Jesse F. DUPREE, Excr. of F. G. DUPREE, dec’d do covenant that he is seized of said premises in fee, Given to him in the last will of F. G. DUPREE by whom he was appointed Excr. And empowered to sell said land the same having been advertised and sold according to will and William H. WEST being the highest bidder it was sold to him, at the sum of two hundred sixteen 25/100 dollars, and the same is free from all encumbrances and that he will warrant and defend the title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever.
