Deed of Land Sale from Drewry Hill to William H. Cunninggim, Feb. 3rd, 1853 State of North Carolina Lenoir County Feb. 3rd 1853 This Indenture made the third day of February, one Thousand eight hundred and fifty three between Drewry Hill & W. H. Cunninggim Jr of the State and county aforesaid. Witnesseth that I the said Drewry Hill for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and twenty five dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby duly acknowledged do hereby bargain, sell, and confirm unto the sd. W.H. Cunninggim Jr. his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of Land Lying on the south side of Wheat Swamp in the state & county afore named, being bounded as follows Beginning at a stake at the Duck Pond & runs N 49 W — 198 poles, to a pine, Nancy Hodges and sd. Cunninggim’s corner, then South 46 pole to a pine, then S 29 W 54 pole to a poste Oak then S 2 W 24 pole to a stake then S 35 W to Alexander Wilson’s & sd. Cunninggim’s corner. Then with Wilson’s line to a Blackjack Miller Creech’s corner Then with Sd. Creech line N 17 E 68 pole to the beginning containing one hundred and forty one Acres, more or less to have and to hold with all the priviledges there unto belonging and I the Sd. Drewry Hill do hereby bind myself, my heirs and assigns to defend the right and title of the same unto the sd. Cunninggim, his heirs or assigns forever in witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this day and date above written.
