INDENTURE – 1 Aug. 1879 – Charles C. Phillips and his wife Rosean Phillips of 
Lenoir to Richard W. King of Lenoir - $500 – tract in Kinston Township – 
beginning and on Kinston and Snow Hill Road, formerly Wm. White's corner (now 
R. H. Rountrees), to J. C. Washington's line, to J. R. Phillips line (formerly 
F. M. Larouque's (sic) line – 113 & ¾ acres – being land conveyed to said Charles 
C. Phillips by John Tull and wife Winnie R. Tull dated 18 December 1869 – sum of 
$500 plus interest at the rate of 8% on a note bearing date 1 August 1879 and 
due 1 Jan 1880 – if not paid, the property to be sold at the Courthouse to the 
highest bidder
