Some of these original documents are still in the possession of private individuals and some have been placed at the NC Archives or other institutions in Collections. In addition there is another Lovit Hines Collection at the NC Archives of original papers in P.C. 1759 (two boxes). My thanks to Ed Morris of the Archives and Records Branch for this information. I have tried not to duplicate individual documents already abstracted from various sources especially the Edwards Collection where the original Hill and many of the Hardee documents are found. No doubt many of the originals of records in this Collection are in the James Hines and Wiatt Hines Collections, but they have not been abstracted as yet. The researcher also needs to refer to the Dobbs County Archives Page for those records that predate the founding of Lenoir County.
