Lenoir County, NC – Deeds – Matthew Moseley to Joshua Moseley, 1816 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lenoir County Deeds, Miscellaneous Deeds, 1816-1939 CR.059.401.6 [319 acres] This Indenture made this 20th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Sixteen between Matthew Moseley of the State of North Carolina & County of lenoir of the one part and Joshua Moseley of the State and County aforesaid of the other part witnesseth That the Said Matthew Moseley as well for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which he hath and bequeath unto the said Joshua Moseley his Son as also for the better maintenance and prefermance of the Said Joshua Moseley hath given and granted aliened ensealed and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant alien enseall and confirm unto the Said Joshua Moseley all that usuages or tenement of land which he the said Matthew Moseley purchased of Robert Taylor containing by estimation Three hundred and ninteen acres by the Same more or less lying and situated in the county aforesaid on bear creek facing the lands of the Said Matthew Moseley William Heniry and Lewis Whitfield To have and to hold the said usuage or Tenements lands and premises hereby given and granted or mentioned or hereby intended to be given or granted unto the Said Joshua Moseley his Heirs and assigns to the only his purpose and behoof of him the Said Joshua Moseley his Heirs and assigns foever And the Said Matthew Moseley for himself his Heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant and grant to and with the Said Joshua Moseley his Heirs and assigns by these presents that he the Said Joshua Moseley his Heirs and assigns shall and lawfully may from hence forth forever hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold occupy possess and enjoy the Said usages tenements land heriditaments and premises hereby given and granted or mentioned with these appurtenances free clear and discharged of and from all forever and other gifts grants bargains and Sales enforcements jointers? divers all other title trouble charges and incumbrances whatsoever had made committed done or suffered or to by had made committed done or suffered by him the Said Matthew Moseley his Heirs Executors or administrators or any other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any or either of them In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my Seal the day and year before written Witness Matthew Moseley {Seal} Elizabeth Moseley Polly Hatch ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
