PARROTT of Lenoir Co., to Durant H. L. BELL & Josiah L. BELL of Carteret Co., NC. 22 Dec. 1865 Bk. BB, p. 918 This Indenture made this 22nd day of December A. D. 1865 Between John A. PARROTT of the County of Lenoir and State of North Carolina of the first part and Durant H. L. BELL and Josiah L. BELL of the county of Carteret and State aforesaid of the Second part. Witnesseth that the Said John A. PARROTT for and in consideration of the Sum of Fifteen Thousand dollars to him in hand paid or Secure to be paid at and before the Signing, Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and Sold Conveying and Confirmed and doth by these presents bargain and sell Convey and confirm unto the Said Durant H. L. BELL and Josiah L. BELL their heirs and assigns all the mesuage or tenement of land and every part and parcel thereof lying and being in the County of Carteret which is embraced in the deeds of Conveyance of the following person to the said John A. PARROTT in the order in which they occur as follows: Benjamin STATON’S deed of Conveyance bearing date the 15th December A. D. 1859 description of the following land viz. lying and being on the West side of North River in Carteret County beginning own the West Side of North River in Carteret County beginning on the west side of said River thence due west into the woods two hundred and forty six poles thence South fifty five degrees West one hundred and Sixty eight poles thence due east, Three hundred and ninety six poles to the said River then up said River to the first Station also one other tract of land Situated in Said county of Carteret being the Eleventh Twelfths of Ricaid HATCHER part of patent patented the 18th of December 1793 on the West side of North River a main? particular description of which parcel of land and also of foregoing described parcel may be had by reference to a deed of bargain and Sale of Jessee P. NEVILL to the Said Benj. STATON bearing date 20th February A. D. 1856, also all the Estate right title and interest in and to a parcel of land on the West Side of North River containing one hundred and Twenty Acres more or less; Conveyed by deed of bargain & Sale to the Said Benj. STATON by Thomas DUDLEY & Henry DUDLEY a description of which will — fully appear by reference to their two deeds Separately executed the dates of both of which is the 24th day of March A.D. 1856. Also Lewis DAVIS deed of Conveyance bearing date the 26th of March A. D. 1860 describing the following parcel land viz. deed from Ja. W. HUNT to Jeper WARD beginning at the North of Norwood’s Creek and running up the various courses of the Creek to the North River Road northwardly to Jechonias PIGOTT’S patent line then with the dividing line believes said PIGOTT and said Lewis DAVIS , West six degrees North to said PIGOTT’S North East line and with said line South forty five degrees West to the Corner then with his line South East to the Corner and then with Said DAVIS patent line to the North West corner of Richard RUP— patent line then with said line to the South East Corner and with his line North East to COLE’S patent line and with said line east to North River thence the various courses of the River North to the beginning at the mouth of Norwood’s Creek containing five hundred Acres more or less. And also John B. DICKINSON’S and Thomas H. DICKINSONS deed bearing date the 26th of March A. D. 1860 describing the following parcel of land Situate in the County of Carteret on the West Side of North River containing Two hundred and three Acres more or less bounded as follows: beginning at a Laurel in North River Swamp and runs thence North two hundred and twenty seven poles to a Bay Tree in CASWELL’S line then along said line South 84 West two Hundred and Six poles to a laurel then South Sixty poles to a pine in SIMPSONS & DAVIS’S line then along said line South forty East until it cuts the West line of the patient then East 35 poles to the beginning. To Have and to hold to them the said Durant H. L. BELL and Josiah L. BELL and their heirs executors administrators or assigns and the Said John A. PARROTT doth hereby Covenant and agree to and with the Said Durant H. L. BELL and Josiah L. BELL their heirs or assigns to convey release and forever discharge all the right title intent claim or demands which he might or could have Either in law or equity in and to any part or parcel of the above describes premises by reason of said deeds of Conveyance and that he will warrant and defend all the right title and claim vested in him by reasons of Said deed the sole and entire interest of which is hereby only intended to be Conveyed. In Testimony whereof the said John A. PARROTT hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and date first above written. Jno. A. PARROTT (SEAL) Signed, sealed & delivered in presence of R. W. KING, Ralph BELL. North Carolina, Carteret Count Office of Clerk of County Court. The execution of the foregoing deed is proved before me, according to law, by the oath and examination of Ralph BELL, one of the subscribing witnesses thereon.
