PRESSON to John A. PARROTT Lenoir County, NC 10 Dec. 1867 State of North Carolina Lenoir County Know all men by these presents that I, Thomas J. PRESSON of the County of Lenoir and State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred dollars to me in hand paid by John A. PARROTT of the County and State aforesaid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained Sold and conveyed and do by these presents bargain sell and convey unto the said John A. PARROTT and his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land, Situated in the town of Kinston and County of Lenoir adjoining the Lands of S. E. LOFTIN, Dr. Thomas WOODLY, dec’d and others and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at S. E. LOFTIN’S corner on the west side of Queen Street thence up Queen Street, North Forty seven feet thence West or in a westwardly direction through the centre or near the of Mathias HARVEY’S lot a part of Lot no. twenty five two hundred and ten feet to Dr. Thomas WOODLY’S dec’d line thence with the said Dr. Thomas WOODLY’S dec’d line south Forty seven feet to S. B. WEST line or corner thence a Strait line with the lines of Said S. B. WEST, Stephen WHITE and S. E. LOFTIN to the beginning containing Forty seven feet running North and South by Two hundred and ten feet east and West. To have and to hold the said land and premises, with all its improvements and appurtenances unto the said John A. PARROTT and his heirs forever. And the said Thomas J. PRESSON do for myself and my heirs and assigns covenant to and with the said John A. PARROTT his heirs and assigns that I will warrant and by these presents forever defend the title hereby convey to the said John A. PARROTT and his heirs against the lawful claims of any and all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and offered this the ninth day of December eighteen hundred and Sixty seven. Thomas J. PRESSON (Seal) Signed, Sealed and delivered in presence of R. F. BRIGHT I, Elizabeth R. PRESSON wife of the said Thomas J. PRESSON doth for and in consideration of the premises together with the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by John A. PARROTT recipe whereof is hereby acknowledged too release relinquish and from quitclaim all right title or interest which I have at Law or Equity in and to the above described real Estate conveyed by my husband Thomas J. PRESSON to John A. PARROTT his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof I the said Elizabeth R. PRESSON doth for myself and my heirs hereunto set my hand and offer my seal this the Ninth of December Eighteen hundred and Sixty Seven. Bettie R. PRESSON and Elizabeth R. PRESSON his wife was duly acknowledged before me Richard W. KING, chairs.? of Lenoir County Court by the said Thomas J. PRESSON and Elizabeth R. PRESSON his wife the Grantors therein named. And the said Elizabeth R. being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband declared that she executed the aid deed of her own free will and accord without fear or compulsion from her said husband orang other person and that she doth now voluntarily assent thereto that the said deeds and this certificate be registered.
