File: ROUSE-18863-33 State of North Carolina, Lenoir County This Deed, made this Eighteenth day of January 1878, by Calvin ROUSE of Lenoir County, and State of North Carolina to Richard B. TAYLOR of Lenoir County, and State of North Carolina; Witnesseth: That said Calvin ROUSE in consideration of Forty-five hundred dollars, to him paid by Richard B. TAYLOR, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has bargained and sold, and by these presents does bargain, sell and convey to said Richard TAYLOR and his heirs a tract of land in Lenoir County, State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of L.B. HARDEE, dec'd, Abner DAWSON, R.B. TAYLOR and others, bounded as follows, viz: Beginning at a bridge over Louisa Swamp canal in Greenville and over the residence of L.B.HARDEE dec'ed and runs S 89 W 28 poles, then S 14? E - poles, then S 66 3/4 N 50 poles, then S 86 W 167? Poles to a stone?, then N 109-W 25? Poles to the run of Louisa Swamp opposite the mouth of a Small branch then with said branch and a ditch. Abner DAWSON's line to the Goldsboro road, then N 103 poles to a pine in R.B.TAYLORS line, then with TAYLORS, T.A.? HEATH'S line S 85 E 136 poles, then N 89 E 20 poles then N 67 E 19 1/2 poles, then S 83 E 26 poles then N 33 E 56 poles to a stake on North side of Public? Road near Louisa Swamp Church then S 50 E 18 poles to a stake, then S 3 W 50? Poles to Public? Road near a ditch, then with road to fork of Goldsboro road, then with Swinsion? Road to beginning corner, three hundred acres more or less. To have and to Hold the aforesaid tract of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging, to the said Richard B. TAYLOR his heirs and assigns, to his and their only use and behoof. And the said Calvin ROUSE covenants that he is seized of said premises in fee, and has right to convey the same in, fee simple, that the same are free from all incumbrances, and that he will warrant and defend the said title to the same, against the claims of all persons whatsoever.
