MILLS) State of North Carolina Lenoir County This Deed, made this 1st day of Nov. 1919, by A. HASKINS & wife Donnie WOOD HASKINS of Garfield County, State of Oklahoma and Sarah J. DUPREE of Lenoir County and State of North Carolina Parties of the first part, to D. I. SPENCE of Lenoir County and State of North Carolina Party of the second part, Witnesseth That said Parties of First part in consideration of Two Thousand Dollars and other considerations to others paid by and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said Party of Second Part and his heirs and assigns, all that certain tract or parcel of land in —— Township, said County, State of described as follows: situated in town of Kinston, NC beginning at a at also on Independent Street East side 61 1/2 feet from Gordon Street a corner of a part of F. P. WOOD and run Easwtwardly with the line of said lot 124 feet to railroad right of way at BOYDS corner then about South with BOYDS line and parallel with Independent Street 61 1/2 feet to Barbara A. TILGHMAN’S line, then about West and with said TILGHMAN’S line about 124 feet to Independent Street, runs about North and with Independent Street 61 1/2 feet to the beginning this lot of land being the same piece or parcel of land conveyed by F.C. WOOD to Donnie WOOD HASKINS, wife of Culford? HASKINS, same being of record the Registers office of Lenoir County in Book 29 at page 630. Sarah J. DUPREE one of the grantors in the Deed owning a life estate in the aforesaid mentioned lot of land hereby joins in this conveyance hereby waiving her interest in the same. It is stipulated and agreed that the said second party assumes all street paving assessments on above property. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenance thereto belonging, to the said Party of second part his heirs and assigns, to their only use and behoof forever. And the said parties of the first part covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee, and have a right to convey the same in fee simple, that the same are free from all encumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whomsoever. HASKINS personally appears before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed Deed of Conveyance; and the said Donnie WOOD HASKINS being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
