Survey of Plat: Amos STROUD, 17 July 1880-Lenoir County This is to certify that I surveyed and processed the Platt of land below and completed the same the 17th day of July A.D. 1880 for Amos STROUD that Jerre? SMITH and Whitfield GRADY were chain bearers, that the land marks A represent the corners of an old Patent granted to James BROWN and a date of July 21st 1774. And that the corner marked B represent the land corners of sundry warrants whose Surveys appear to have been destroyed by the burning of the Lenoir County records A.D. 1880, one of which was granted to William BROWN; all of which has been transferred so as to become the property of said Amos STROUD. That this Platt further represents a Platt of 266 acres of land granted said James BROWN which fully appears as no. 2? That the dotted line on Platt No. 1 by red represents a portion of that Patent sold off to the Estate of Frederick BROWN, and the red line represent Amos STROUD'S land including the warrants mentioned. The N line passing through John L. WILLIAMS land is a supposed in----- By the Patent granted to John LOWERY which was found incorrect; also the line of Mrs. BROWN'S land of 50. Hers is of a Junior date, Hence they avail nothing that the number of acres is estimated by a view of the premises without a minute calculation all of which is respectfully submitted this the 19th day of July A.D. 1880.
