M. Bizzell C.of.C. Samuel I. Sutton & Wife to Noah Sutton & others This Indenture, made this 22 day of November 1886, between Samuel I. Sutton & wife, Mary J. of the first part, and Noah Sutton and Joshua N. Sutton of the second part all of Lenoir County in the state of North Carolina: Witnesseth, that the parties of the first part in consideration of Eighteen Hundred Dollars, have bargained, sold and conveyed and do hereby give, bargain sell and convey to the parties of the second part & their heirs a certain tract of land in Mosley [sic] Hall Township in said County, on the North side of Neuse River contai-ning two hundred acres more or less, and on which the parties of the second part now reside, and bounded as follows: Beginning at a stake in an agreed upon line between Josiah Sutton & Hardy Sutton & heirs S. 34 ½ W. 70 poles, then S. 37 W. to a bridge then S. 86 ½ West 9 poles to a gate, then Northwardly with the cross fence to a stake in an agreed upon line between L H Sutton and Benjamin F Sutton Jr then with said lines S. 73 ¼ W. 71 ½ poles, then S. 42 W. 73 poles to Neuse River then down the various courses of the River to Dempsey Wood's line then with said line to the red oak - corner then with Josiah Sutton's line N. 31 ½ W. 46 poles to the beginning. To Have and to Hold to the parties of the second part their heirs and assigns forever_upon condition however, that the parties of the second part their heirs shall furnish reasonably & comfortably support from said land for the parties of the first part during their Joint lives & during the life of the survivor, and a reasonable & comfortable support from said land for Nannie E. Sutton Louisa J. Sutton and Alice E. Sutton daughters of the parties of the first part until they shall marry. It is further agreed and understood that the said supplies to be furnished as above set fourth [sic], shall be a Lien on the said land. In witness whereof, the parties of the first part have thereupon set their hands & seals. Witness; S. I. Sutton {Seal} A. J. Sutton. Mary J. Sutton {Seal} Personally appeared before me D W Wood Justice of the Peace of Lenoir County Mary J. Sutton wife of S. I. Sutton and ack-nowledged the due execution of the foregoing deed of convey-ance, and the said Mary J. Sutton being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband vou-ching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same fairly and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of her said husband, or any other person and that she doth still voluntarily assert hereto. Sutton, and the foregoing certificate of D. W. Wood, J. P. of Lenoir County is adjudged to be correct. Let the instrument with the certificate be registered this 16th day of April 1887. E. W.
