TILGHMAN, to Alice MOORE, all of Lenoir Co., NC 1 Nov 1892 State of North Carolina Lenoir County This Deed mad this first day of November 1892 by Joseph C. TILGHMAN & wife Barbara E. TILGHMAN and Sarah J. TILGHMAN of Lenoir County and State of North Carolina of the first part to Alice MOORE of Lenoir County and State of North Carolina of the second part. Witnesseth: That said parties of the first part for and in consideration of Two hundred and two Dollars to them paid by Alice MOORE the recipe of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold, and by theses presents do bargain, sell and convey to said Alice MOORE and her heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in the town of Kinston, Lenoir County, State of North Carolian adjoining the lands known as the DIBBLE Lot, the DUKE Lot and Independent Street in said town and others, bounded as follows, viz: Beginning not he East side of Independent at the corner of the DIBBLE lot and runs N 2 1/2 E along the edge of said Street 67 1/3 feet to a stake,t hen S 87 1/2 E and parallel with the DIBBLE line 1244 feet to the DUKE line then with the DUKE line S 2 1/2 W 67 1/3 feet to the DIBBLE line, then with the DIBBLE line N 87 1/2 W 124 feet to the beginning it being a part of the Donald WOOD lot. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel or lot of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said Alice MOORE and her heirs and assigns to their only use and behoof forever. And the said parties of the first part covenant to and with the said Alice MOORE and her heirs and assigns that they are seized of said premises in fee, and have right to covey the same in fee simple that the same are free from all encumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. TILGHMAN personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed of conveyance, and the said Barbara E. TILGHMAN being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband touching her voluntary execution of the same; doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of her said husband or of any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto. Let the instrument with this certificate be registered. This 1st day of November 1892. E. W.
