Given to Heritage Place by Sloan Spence Mason Indenture: Henry TULL & wife to George ALLEN; dated: 17 Nov. 1884-Lenoir Co. This Indenture made and executed this the 17th day of November A.D., one thousand eight hundred and eighty four between Henry TULL and his wife Myrtie A. TULL of the county of Lenoir and state of North Carolina of the first part and George ALLEN of the county of Craven and state aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the party of the second part. The receipt of which is hereby fully acknowledge, have given granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell and convey unto the party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever. One equal undivided one third part of the following tract or parcel of land situated on the South side of Neuse River and on the head waters of Brice Creek and being a part of the tract of land formerly owned by John C. WASHINGTON, H. F. BOND, Edward MALLETT & J.D.B. HOOPER (but with the exception of that portion of the tract of land W.A.BLOUNT conveyed to H.A.BROWN by deed bearing date the 24th day of March A.D. 1870 and conveyed to John C. WOOTEN {the party of the first part-(crossed out)} by W.A.BLOUNT and wife by deed bearing date 31st day of March 1876. Bounded as follows. - Beginning at the head of BLACKLEDGES old canal 9 poles West of James DAVIS' beginning corner designated by a large pine and runs thence S14? W520 poles with said Canal then S 86 E 400 poles to Lydia GUARD and Roger BRATCHER'S line then N20 W220 poles to his NW corner with his line N65 E220 poles to his second course than with LEICH'S? line-to the last corner of Joseph LEICH'S line- 200 acres patent dat! ed 13th Oct. 1765, then with line of same? & his other patent N60 W490 poles to the aforesaid James DAVIS'S corner, then with LEICH'S patent line N30 E180 poles to LEICH'S and V.A. TALSON'S patent corner, then with LEICHS and TALSON'S line N37 W147 poles to another of LEICH'S and TALSON'S patent corner, then with TALSON'S and Jacob TAYLORS patent line N53 E170 poles to the corner of Bazil SMITHS patent in Jacob TAYLOR'S patent line at the run of the great Branch, then with SMITH'S line S70 W400 poles to LEICH & BROWN'S line, then with the same Southward 20 poles to P.G.EVAN'S corner in LEICH'S line, then with EVAN'S line S60 E265 poles to another of his corner, then with his line S4 W100 poles to the beginning. Containing after deducting the tract or parcel conveyed to H.A. BROWN before mentioned. Nine hundred and Ninety eight acres more or less. To have and to hold the above granted premises with all the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns to them and their use and behoof forever. And the said party of the first part for themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators do covenant with the party of the second part his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized in fee simple of the aforegranted premises that they are free from all incumbrance and that they have good right to sell and convey the same to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns. And the said party of the first part their heirs, executors and administrators shall and will warrant and defend the same to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons claims by though or under them. Joseph Finch LEICH -200 acres patent dated 13th Oct. 1765 then with line of same & his other patent, right and title of or to both dower and homestead in the above granted premises have hereunto set their hands and seals- the day and date first above written. TULL, being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband, or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
